Building a Culture of Care—Inside and Outside the Clinic
April 6, 2026

At Breathe Free, delivering high-quality care inside the clinic is only part of the mission. Equally important is how we show up beyond it.
Across National Breathe Free, we are building a culture that values service, connection, and community involvement—because care doesn’t stop when an appointment ends. It continues in the communities where our patients and teams live and work.
A Local Effort That Reflects a Larger Vision
In mid-March, our Arizona Breathe Free teams came together for a volunteer event with Feed My Starving Children. In just one hour, team members worked side by side to help pack meals for children facing food insecurity.
While the impact of the event itself was meaningful, it also served as a powerful example of something bigger: what happens when teams align around a shared purpose outside of their day-to-day responsibilities.
Matt Ghanem, CEO of National Breathe Free, shared:
“We’re always focused on delivering great care inside our clinics, but moments like this remind us that our responsibility—and our opportunity—goes beyond that. This is the kind of culture we want to continue building.”
More Than Participation—A Reflection of Culture
What made the event stand out was not just the outcome, but how teams showed up. The level of engagement, collaboration, and shared pride highlighted the kind of environment Breathe Free is working to create across all regions.
This wasn’t simply a volunteer activity—it was a reflection of a culture that prioritizes connection and purpose.
Orlando Vargas, Regional Operations Director, explained:
“When you see teams show up like this—fully engaged, working together, and proud of what they’re doing—it reinforces that we’re building something meaningful, not just operationally, but culturally.”
That sense of shared purpose strengthens not only team dynamics, but also the overall experience for patients and communities alike.
Extending Care Beyond Clinical Settings
At its core, healthcare is about people. That principle guides how we approach both patient care and community involvement.
Participating in initiatives like Feed My Starving Children allows our teams to support broader needs while reinforcing the same values that drive their work every day—compassion, collaboration, and consistency.
These efforts are not separate from our mission. They are an extension of it.

Expanding Across Markets
The work happening in Arizona Breathe Free is just one example of how teams across the organization are engaging with their communities. As National Breathe Free continues to grow, so does our commitment to expanding these efforts across additional markets.
Our goal is to create more opportunities for teams to come together, support meaningful causes, and build connections that go beyond the workplace.
Because building a strong organization is not only about operational success—it’s about fostering a culture where people feel connected to something larger than themselves.
Looking Ahead
As we move forward, National Breathe Free remains focused on strengthening both patient care and community engagement. These priorities go hand in hand, shaping the experience for both patients and team members.
